Cora Moret (1959, the Netherlands) studied philosophy and art in Amsterdam. She started her ‘Winterreise’ in the extreme winter of 2012 during a residency in the country, completing the series during the summer of 2020. Her paintings and drawings are taken from daily life and situated in the present time. Her ‘Reise’ is a search for imagination. Feelings that are evoked by the lyrics, feelings of love, sadness, pain and loneliness are represented in wide and open landscapes. In the cold and silence, desire awaits. Is it the desire to say goodbye or is it the yearning and lust for new life, to come along and join the Leiermann in singing a song? Cora lives and works in Rotterdam.
