Gotthard Bonell was born in Truden, South Tyrol in 1953. He studied at the Art School in Ortisei and at the Art Academies in Venice and Milan. He attended the summer courses at the International Summer Academy in Salzburg, where he was an assistant in 1980/1981. In 1983 Gotthard was granted a scholarship by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Education and Art to study in Vienna. 1985 saw the start of his singing studies at the Conservatory in Bolzano. In 1997 he presented his graphic portfolio of 25 etchings for Winterreise, which he recorded with pianist Norman Shetler. Artist’s website: www.gotthardbonell.com
