Jacques Vermorel was born in France, in 1957 and has been a photographer since 1979. Previous exhibitions: Madrid 1991; Chambéry 1993; Oyonnax and Bourg en Bresse 1998; Uzès 2000; France 2008 and 2019. Participation in the Days of Photographic Image (Lyon, 1996), at the Biennale d’art contemporain (Lyon, 1997). Some forty photographs were taken for the collection of contemporary photographs of the Bibliothèque Nationale de France (department of prints and photography) at the request of director Jean-Claude Lemagny. Main series: “Injured mirrors” (photographs in town); “Voyages d’hiver” (24 abstract photographs inspired by «Winterreise»); “Paths that lead nowhere” (landscapes); “En Corps” (portraits and nudes); “Dialogs with suffering” (portraits in psychiatric settings).
