Painter and writer José Saborit is Professor at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the Polytechnic University of Valencia and a Full Member of the Royal Academy of San Carlos de Valencia. Since the end of the eighties, his paintings have been shown in more than 100 group and individual exhibitions and appear in different institutions and private national and foreign collections. His more recent exhibitions include Con el aire (Centro del Carmen, Generalitat Valenciana, 2008), Más al Sur (IVAM, 2012), La misma savia (Galería Shiras, Valencia 2017), Art Madrid (2018), La escalera de Jacob (Shiras Gallery, 2018) and Mientras la luz (O_Lumen, Madrid, 2018-19). His publications include Retórica de la Pintura (Cátedra, 2000, co-authored with Alberto Carrere), Formas de caminar (UPV, 2007) and the poetry anthologies Flor de sal (Pre-Textos, 2008) La eternidad y un día (Pre- Textos, 2012), La misma savia (XXX UNICAJA Poetry Prize, Pre-Textos, 2016), Carta al hijo (Veintiúnversos-Banda legendaria, 2017) and an extended essay on painting entitled Lo que la pintura da (Pre-Textos, 2018).
