Linda Ganus Albulescu is active as a visual artist and performing musician in the New York/New Jersey/Pennsylvania metro areas. She has received numerous awards for her work and exhibited widely, including solo exhibits held at Lehigh University, Moravian College and the Nurture Nature Center. She earned her Master’s in Fine Art from Vermont College of Fine Arts, her MA in History from Lehigh University and has also studied painting and drawing at the New York Studio School with Graham Nickson, and anatomy at the New York Academy of Art. Her work has been commissioned by organizations such as the New York Philharmonic, David Sarnoff Research Center, Musical America, G. Schirmer and the Kinhaven Music Institute, as well as numerous private collectors. Linda’s work owes a debt to many past and present masters of figurative visual art, although it is the result of a search for a modern and personal response to those masters and their traditions. The imagery in her work is usually recognizable and drawn from direct observation; at the same time, it is often recomposed and framed in unexpected and uncanny ways. In her work, Linda often grapples with issues concerning the our relationship to the natural world, as well as the nature of our relationships. Artist’s website: www.lindaganus.com
