German artist Ruth Schefold was born in Ulm in 1928. She studied at the Art Academy in Stuttgart from 1949 to 1953, subsequently working as a freelance artist in Schwäbisch Hall. Extensive trips to Europe, America and Asia (especially Japan and Tibet) fed her art. Schefold became famous in many solo and group exhibitions in southern and central Germany and in Austria. Ruth Schefold died in February 2012.
